Fall Bird Card !!!

Happy Friday, Thanks for stopping by. It's pretty chilly here. But at least we didn't get any snow. Feeling bad for the ones that did. Well unless they love snow.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I Love to see It come down and love to see the Trees covered.  But that's about as far as the Love goes. I hate being cold and hate to get out in it.

Wish I had a place in Florida I could go to. Yes, I would pack my bags and leave right after Christmas and come back sometime around March. Yeah, That sounds nice.

O.K. Cindy, Snap out of it. Get back to reality and stop thinking about Florida.

So, While I'm sitting here with my cup of Hot Coffee and my Snuggie wrapped around me, I would like to share the card that I made for my Beautiful Mom for her birthday.

A lot of times when I am going to make a Card, I will sketch Idea's on paper. When I come up with an Idea. I make a list of the Items I use. Well, In this case I must have thrown my list away. Because It's no where to be found. That's what I get for cleaning.

But I do know that the Bird Stamp is from Stampin Up called Spring Song. Of course I wanted it to look like fall. So I added some leaves. Can't remember what stamp set that is from and the sentiment stamp is also from S.U. called Best Yet.

I used two different Woodgrain Folders. One from Tim Holtz and the other from Cuttlebug called Forest Branches.

I also used a Cricut Cartridge to cut out the frame around the bird. Not sure which one I used. I used a scallop punch and two circle punches.

To make the end of the banner I just used the corner of a Square Punch.

Sponged the Sky in Bashful Blue and Summer Sun. I think I colored the bird in Bashful Blue, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa and the leaves in more Mustard. I then added Sheer Blue Ribbon and Copper colored cord.

I do Love that Designed Cardstock. I'm thinking it's from Stampin Up.

I do really appreciate you stopping by and would love to visit you. If you leave a comment. Please add our blog address so that I can.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my Card. Happy Day to you.
Cindy

Rippled Waves Of Fall Afghan!

Good Day Fellow Crafters. A Gorgeous morning here in Indiana. Going to start raining later and then I heard that we are going to have a Artic Blast of cold air next week. Not looking forward to that. I'm not a fan of cold weather.

On my last post I shared a Card in a Box I made for my Daughter's 30th Birthday and today I would like to share with you the gift that I made her.

It is a Ripple Afghan in Fall colors. This was my first time doing the ripple stitch and was afraid to start it, thinking there is no way I will be able to do it. Until I seen a video on youtube. After watching it I thought Wow, This is so much easier than I thought.

I have to tell you I really enjoyed making this. But did have a little trouble at first because there was a few things on the video that I wasn't understanding and by reading some of the comments, noticed others were having some problems understanding to.

Like at the beginning and ending of each row. You always have two Double Crochets together at the beginning and at the end.
At the beginning after you make the two D.C. together you then add three more Double Crochets before you start the first decrease.

At the end of each row after you finish the last decrease you will do three Double Crochets and then your two Double Crochets. So that is total of 5 D.C at the beginning and end of each row.

Also a tip to help you, You really have to pay attention to your pattern. I missed a stitch a few times and the way I knew that I had was on your Increases. Your last Increase will always be right on top of the Increase below it.

Here is a list of the names of the yarn that I used.

Coffee
Buff
Burgundy
Carrot
Medium Thyme
Cornmeal

Love all of the colors and thought they went well together for Fall colors. I called my Afghan (Rippled Waves of Fall) because that's exactly what it looked like to me.

Here is a link to the Video that I watched. Hoping what I shared helps you if you have any trouble. If you decide to make one.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the Afghan that I made and If you decide to make one, Please let me know I would Love to see it.
Thanks for stopping by. Cindy

Birthday Card In a Box!!!

 Hello Crafters,

Yesterday my Baby Girl turned 30 years old. It's still hard to believe It. The years have just flew by. She is a Beautiful woman and I Love her so much and I'm very proud of her.

So I thought I would share with you the Card that I made her.

I knew that I wanted to make her a colorful Fun Card. So I thought I would try making one of the Card In a Box Cards.

I think it turned out Cute and she Loved It! She was so surprised and had never seen anything like It.

Just when I was just about done with the Card. I decided to make the Owl. She Loves Owls as much as I do and I do think It made it a lot better.

The Owl is a Punch from Stampin Up and the Owls wings were made using the Stampin Up Oval Punch and Scalloped Oval Punch.

The back of the Card was where I wrote to her. I know you can't tell from the picture. But the Stars were cut from White Glitter Cardstock and everything was sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist, so everything was sparkly and added White Stickles to the Birthday Hat.

 Cricut Cartridges that I used,

Create a Critter 2 - Balloons, Red Pointed Circle, Birthday Hat

Wild Card- Black Curly's

Cricut Classic Font- Happy Birthday and It's Your Day

Child's Year- Stars

I got this Card Idea from youtube. But not sure which one it was from. I do know the Card base to make the Box was 5-1/2 x 9.
So if you would like to try making one. You can go to youtube and there are several tutorials on there.
The only thing I changed was the stripes inside the box. Every video that I watched had two, I made three. Just so I could add more things.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you enjoyed seeing my Card in a Box.  Happy Day to you all.

Cindy
