Black and White Sympathy Card & Crochet Hat

A few post ago I shared with you a sympathy card. Unfortunately, I had to make another one. Wanted to share it with you all today.   I made this one for a friend at my Church. Her husband passed away a few days ago. I feel so bad for her. She also lost her Mother not that long ago. So here is the card I made for her.

I wanted a simple card and went with another black and white card like I did on my last sympathy card. I also used the same embossing folder.  I had got this bird stamp for my Christmas cards next year. But I thought it might work well for a sympathy card. So it was nice getting to use it. Just wish it wasn't for a sympathy card. I also added a few red gems. Thought they looked nice.

I also thought I would go ahead and share with you a hat that I crocheted for my daughter for Christmas. This was only my second hat that I have made. The first one I made was for my grand daughter. It's on my most recent post if you would like to see it.

I didn't add a pom pom to this one and I'm glad I didn't. My daughter said she loved the hat but would not have wanted a pom pom. I did mess up on this one and had to take out a few rows. That was a little frustrating.  I was so glad when it was finished. I do like how it turned out.

If you would like to make one, you can find the video on youtube.
It's called the 1.5 Hour Crochet Hat. Ha! It took me a lot longer than an hour and a half.  The video is by crochetdreamz. If you try making this, make sure you have stitch markers.

I am super happy that it fit my daughter and that she loved it. Now I would like to make me a hat. Well actually I think I'm going to make me a headband. I found a really nice one to try.

Thank for stopping by. Blessing to you all!

Card for Amy and Hygge Cloud Crochet Hat

Sitting here trying to get this post made and I am freezing. It's only the start of January and I'm so done with winter. I have a condition called Raynaud's syndrome. So my hands and feet get extra cold and turn purple and white. It gets very painful sometimes. I have my cup of coffee so that is helping.

Today I wanted to share with you a card that I made for my niece Amy for her birthday. Her and her family recently moved back here from Illinois. Her husband retired from the Air Force and I'm so happy to have them back home after all these years away.

Awhile back Amy had bought an antique pitcher and matching tray from me. So I thought I would make her a card with a pitcher on it.

I thought the pitcher looked good with the tin tile embossing folder. I am planning on getting several more markers. I don't have very many. So I am limited on colors to use. But I think the colors I had worked o.k.

Also thought I would show you all the hat I crocheted my grand daughter Scarlett for Christmas. She had ask me if I could make her one.
I tried making a hat once and it didn't turn out so was nervous about attempting it again. But I thought I would give it another try since she ask.

So here is the hat that I made for her.

After I started crocheting. It really wasn't as hard as I first thought. I had found the video on youtube and she explained the pattern pretty well. I used Hygge yarn by Red Heart in the colors Plum Candy and Pearl.

The yarn is so super soft. I love to feel it. I picked up the pom pom at JoAnns or Michaels. Can't remember.

If you would like to give this hat a try you can find it on youtube called How to crochet Hygge Cloud Hat. I watched the one for left handed but there is also one in right handed. The video is by Tamara Kelly. Oh and Scarlett LOVED the hat,

That's all from me today. Got some dreaded house cleaning to do. The grandkids are spending the night with us. So I need to get my things done now. Happy day to you all and God bless!

Wintertime Sympathy Card

Hello, Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I think I have gained some weight with all the parties, But now that they are all over it's time to get back on track.

I think that we all would agree the hardest type of card to make is a Sympathy card. I have made one for a family member that lost her grandmother. So I thought I would share it with you all.

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have made a sympathy card during winter. I knew I wanted something more on the simple side.
So I thought a red cardinal in the tree would be nice.
Not sure if you have ever heard that when you see a red cardinal it's your loved one that has passed on coming for a visit. Nice thought isn't it. I guess you never know.

Well that's it for me, I am super tired tonight.  I have totes and boxes all pulled out. Have been taking down Christmas decorations. I still need to take the tree down.
Maybe I will get a burst of energy later and get it done. I have been dreading it. I love looking at my tree.

I will be posting some things that I have crocheted in my my next few post. Hope you can make it back. Hope you all have a happy and safe week. Again thanks for visiting.
