Warm & Cozy Christmas Card & Snowball Cookies

Hello, Glad you stopped by. Today I am sharing a hot Cocoa Christmas card.

To make this card I used a napkin. Thought the image of hot Cocoa in a cup was cute.

I stamped the snowflakes in Real Red Ink. The snowflakes are a retired set from Stampin Up.

Used a stitched circle die and also a circle punch. Picked up the paper from JoAnn's. Also added a little red satin ribbon.

Since it's the season of giving I thought I would share another recipe.

This one is for Snowball Cookies. A perfect cookie for the Holidays.

♥️  Snowball Cookies, also known as Russian Tea Cakes or Mexican Wedding Cake, are a delightfully nutty little balls of powdered sugar covered goodness! These classic holiday shortbread cookies come out every year at Christmas🎄 and everybody loves them! They are messy, but sooo worth it!! Enjoy!

Snowball Cookies

INGREDIENTS

1cup butter softened

1 tsp. vanilla extract

  2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour sifted

 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  1 cup pecans chopped fine

  Additional powdered sugar for coating

INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, beat butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy, about 3-4 minutes. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar and salt, then stir into the butter, mixing just until combined.

Mix in the chopped pecans. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.

What’s great about these cookies the don’t spread allot during baking.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned on the bottoms. DO NOT OVER BAKE.

Remove from oven and wait just until they are cool enough to handle but still warm, then roll in powdered sugar and transfer to a separate baking sheet or parchment. Wait until cool, then roll in powdered sugar again to generously coat.

Store in an airtight container. Tips: • Don’t over bake • Don’t over knead the dough • Chill dough balls in freezer 15 minutes before baking (put in oven chilled)

I enjoy these cookies with a cup of coffee. So good!

That's all from me. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you can make it back.

Merry Christmas!

Still Life Stems Round Card

Hello Crafters, Hope your having nice weekend. Today I want to share a card with you.

The card base for this card was created using the a spellbinders die.

The flower stamp is from a retired Stampin Up set called Still Life Stems. Used alcohol markers to color it in.

For the sentiment I used a retired stamp from S.U. called Sincere Salutations and the tiny speckles is from a set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds.

Cardstock used are pumpkin pie, black and very vanilla.

Really miss my brother so I used his favorite colors orange and purple.

Wanted to post that the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop will be coming up soon. There is still plenty of time to create a project if you would like to play along.

Elephant Birthday Card

Hello glad you could stop by. For today I wanted to share a birthday card with you.

The cute elephant image is from bugaboo. Sadly they are no longer in business.

This was my first time using my new colored pencils by Arrtx. Even though I have never used colored pencils, I think it turned out ok.

I used gamsol and a blending pen by Tim Holtz. The blending pen was very easy to use. Used wink of stella for a little sparkle and also added some baker's twine.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my card. Have a happy day and come back again.

Ice Cream Card

Hello Crafty friends, I haven't had a post in a few weeks. How's your summer going? The grandkids are back in school. Our first football game of the season is tonight.

My grandaughter Scarlett is a cheerleader this year. She's so excited to be cheering tonight. She looks so cute in her outfit and her pom poms. Hope our team wins. Go Rams!

I love Ice Cream on a hot day. Too bad I don't have any of the real stuff in the freezer. So I guess an Ice cream card will have to do.

For the Ice cream cone I used a stamp from Close to my Heart called Ice Cream Dream. I fussy cut the ice cream out, not the bottom cone. I don't like to fussy cut but this one wasn't that bad.

The sentiment is from a Cardz TV set called "Ticket Talk". The paper was from my stash. Used alcohol markers, Rounded corner stitch die and a white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by,  Happy day to you all!

Floral/Butterfly napkin card

Hello, Haven't had a card share for awhile. So I finally got a card made to share with you all.  I needed a thank you card and decided to make another napkin card.

Have you ever made a napkin card? Love how quick they are to make. The only thing I added to this one is a yellow ribbon.

With the words already on the napkin, I decided to not add a sentiment to the front.

Thanks for stopping by, Hope you can make it back. I will be sharing a Father's Day card soon.

Have a wonderful day, Stay crafty my friends!

Retirement Card (Time to Relax)

Hello, glad you could stop by. Haven't posted in several days. Have been busy with other things. But I finally got to make a card.

My grandchildren's bus driver is retiring so I offered to make them a card to give her. Tomorrow is the last day of school. So I got it done just in time.

Had decided on making a pretty floral card but then changed my mind and decided on a more fun card.

The stamp set is from Art Impressions called Beach Babe's . This was my first time using this set. It was nice getting a chance to play with it.

Colored the image with alcohol markers. Used S.U. Creamy Carmel Ink with a sponge to create the sand.

The Time to Relax sentiment was created in Design Space and then printed out.

Added a few rows of Blue and white baker's twine and you can't tell but I added some Wink of Stella to the glass and her ring.

Hoping this card brings a smile to her. She has been their only bus driver. I can still remember the first time that they got on the bus for their firsts days of Kindergarten. I always felt that they were safe and in good care with her.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to stop back by.

Mother's Day Card & Lemon Meringue Pie

Hello, So glad you could stop by. Tomorrow is Mother's Day so I wanted to share with you the card that I made for my Mom.

This card was made using a napkin. I had received it in some happy mail and I thought it would make a nice Mother's Day card.

Cut the Mom out on my Cricut and used the offset feature to add a border behind the sentiment in vellum.

I know that you can't see it but I  added Wink of Stella to the Mom, parts of the eggs and to the centers of the flowers.

Cardstock used is from Stampin Up and added a blue sheer ribbon.

Also wanted to share a recipe with you. This one is for Lemon Meringue pie. I hadn't made this for several years and decided to make one for Easter.

It's my Grand daughter's favorite pie. She was so excited to see that I had made one.

After Easter I decided that I would make another one so that she could help and learn how to make them. We had a good time and the pie turned out delicious.

Do you have a favorite pie? It's hard for me to choose one, My top favorites are pecan, chocolate chess pie, Lemon and coconut.

So here is the recipe if you would like to try it.

Lemon Meringue Pie

Ingredients needed

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/3 cup cornstarch

1 1/2 cup water

3 egg yolks- lightly beaten

3 tbs. butter

1/4 cup lemon juice

Prebaked pie shell

Meringue  Topping

3 egg whites

1/4 tsp cream of tarter -can substitute w/ 1 tsp lemon juice

6 tbs sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

Get all ingredients ready, that includes prebaking the pie shell. In bowl mix sugar and cornstarch, pour into medium saucepan. slowly stir in water. Cook on medium heat until mixture thickens and boils. (Stir constantly) and boil for 2 minutes.

Remove from heat and slowly add about half the mixture in bowl with egg yolks. Return mixture back into saucepan.

Bring back to boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and butter.Pour into pre

baked pie shell. Oven should be set on 400 degrees.

For meringue, With mixer, beat egg whites and cream of tarter or lemon juice if you are substituting until white and frothy.

Very slowly add in sugar.beat constantly. (easier with stand up mixer). Continue beating until white and stiff peaks form. When you have stiff peaks add vanilla, beat until mixed in.

Pile meringue onto pie, the meringue needs to go all the way to the crust so the edges are sealed.

Make swirls for decorative top.

Bake pie at 400 degrees for 7-10 minutes. You want meringue to start to brown. Let cool before cutting.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a lovely day and too all you Mom's, Happy Mother's Day.

Easel Calender Card

Hello and welcome, Hope your enjoying this beautiful day. For today I have an Easel Calendar Card to share with you.

Since I had a few sets of little calender's I decided that I would use one and make a calendar/ card for my sister's birthday.

Started the calendar with May, her birthday month and stamped a little heart on her special day.

I used the bird from the Friendly Hello stamp set and also use the Friendly Hello Designer Series paper. (Love It so much)

I colored the bird in two shades of yellow alcohol markers. Colored the flowers in two shades of lavender markers and the branch and leaves in two shades of green. Added Wink of Stella to the center of the flowers.

Used Old Olive cardstock for the Easel and stamped the Birch Background stamp from Stampin Up on the front and the back.

I didn't like the silver colored staples so I opened up the stapler and colored a few of them with a lavender alcohol marker. Since the lavender was so light you can barely tell but I was happy that it worked.

I picked up the calendar at the Dollar Tree. Thought it needed a little something else so I added a yellow ribbon.

Now if I can just keep my sister from visiting my blog until after her birthday. Going to have to tell her no peeking.

Hope you have a great day and thank you for taking the time to visit.

Painted Posies Card

Hello and welcome, The weather is really warming up.79 degrees right now. Suppose to get in the 80s tomorrow.

So awhile back I was house sitting for my sister and her husband while they went on a road trip.

So while I was there I hung out in her craftroom. I came across an older Stampin Up set that had never been used called Painted Posies from Stampin Up. It's a wooden block set that the rubber had never been mounted on to the block.

Well I brought it home and cut the rubber and got it mounted. Do any of you remember when you had to cut the rubber stamp and then mount it on the wooden block? I don't miss that at all.

So here is my card that I made.

After I stamped the two step flowers and leaves, I used a set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds around the flowers. I really didn't know what I wanted to do after that. So I stamped a script stamp in grey. It's a stamp from the U.K. The company is called Crafty Individuals.

I then stamped a Beautiful You Image on a scalloped oval that I found in my stash. I stamped thank you over the image. That is from a set called What I Love.

I knew that it needed something else so I added some lavender ribbon. I think that helped a lot. Ribbon always makes things better.

So that's my card for today. Glad I brought the stamp with me and made something with it. I may try to make another card with it before I give it back to my sister.

Also wanted to share with you that I was one of three winners from a giveaway from Arrtx. The giveaway was for their new set of 72 colored pencils. I am sooo excited. I have been wanting to get some. I have never tried colored pencils before. I have a lot to learn.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day and stay safe!

Mini Slimline Thanks Card

Hello to all you awesome paper crafter's. So happy to see that you stopped by.

For today's card I decided to try the Spotlight technique. I had never tried it. So here is my try at it.

I love that this technique is so easy. I should have tried this way before now.

The flower image is from a set by Stampin Unicorn called Small Beginnings. They are located in the U.K.

This is my first time using this stamp. I love flowers and I thought it would be a good one to try this technique.

Stamped the image again on another piece of cardstock and colored only the one flower with alcohol markers. Punched it out using a few circle punches from Stampin Up.

The Thanks is an older stamp from S.U. and was given to me with a bunch of other loose stamps in a plastic container. So not sure what set it comes from.

You can't tell but I added some Wink of Stella to the center of the flower. To finish the card off I added some yellow satin ribbon.

Have you ever made a card using the spotlight technique? If not you should. Great for when you need a quick card.

So that's it for me today. Would love for you to leave me a comment.

Blessings to you all. Have a great day!

Springtime Birdhouse

Happy Monday, Hope you're having a good day.  Today I want to share a birthday card that I made for one of my sister's.

I had a fun time putting this one together.

This was my first time using it and I think it turned out so cute. Birds are my favorite animal, so I am loving this die set from Wplus9.

My sister had told me that she loves American gold finch birds, so I made the little bird yellow and black.

I embossed the birdhouse with a woodgrain embossing folder. The blue and white paper is from my stash. All of the cardstock used for the bird and flowers are from my big container of scraps. The sentiment is from Stampendous.

I cut the black scalloped cardstock from my Cricut. Also added some lavender ribbon.

Hope you have a good week. I will be leaving later today to visit my mom for a few days and then I have an appointment on Thursday with one of my doctor's. I am dreading that appointment. I could use some prayers on that.

Thanks for visiting and hope you can make it back.

Enjoy the little things

Hello, Happy that you stopped by. Happy Spring to you all. As some of you know I am in a facebook craft group and most of us sends out happy mail to one another.

A member named Kim sent me some dies and she also sent me a stamp set. She got them from the Dollar Tree. Who ever thought the Dollar Tree would sale stamps and dies? Not me, anyway wanted to share with you the card that I made using them.

The flowers, bumblebee and the sentiment is all from the stamp set and the clouds and black border are from the die set.

I didn't think it turned out to bad for the dollar tree. I cut out the flowers and bee. Colored them with alcohol markers.

I will be sending this card to Kim along with some crafty goodies. I'm sure she will like seeing what I made with the goodies she sent me.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Ukraine You're on my Mind

Hello, So glad you could stop by. If you seen my last post, I had created a card to show my support for the people of Ukraine. So for today I have created another card.

This Image is a freebie over at  Ink Blot Shop. Thought it was so kind of them. I have seen so many wonderful cards in support to Ukraine created in our awesome crafting community.

In case you don't already know the Sunflower is Ukraine's national flower.

I  colored the flag and sunflowers with different brands of alcohol markers.

I sponged the sky with S.U. Bashful Blue Ink (retired) and I also used a stencil from Stamplorations called Clouds. Sponged the grass with S.U. Ink Wild Wasabi (retired)

The sentiment stamp is a retired set from S.U. called Upsy Daisy.

I watched a video of a woman named Yana on youtube that I follow where she showed how to do a blend free way of shading with alcohol markers so I did that on the sunflowers.

Yana is from Western Ukraine and has been keeping us updated on whats going on. I know that she is scared and it just breaks my heart.

Please keep her and the people of Ukraine in your prayers. If you would like to follow her on youtube. Her name is Yana Smakula.

If you create a card showing your support on any mainstream media please add #cardsforukraine to your photo.

I think that will be all from me today. Thanks for stopping by, God bless!

Hello Card

Hello crafter's So glad you had a minute to stop by. Today I am sharing a card using that awesome stamp set again, Friendly Hello.

I have to say I am really enjoying this stamp set. I haven't used the paper yet that goes with it. But I will be.

Used alcohol markers to color in the image and cut it out with a stitched circle die. Also used a scalloped circle that was cut out with my Cricut.

The Thank You sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy called Poppies and Greetings.

The pink cardstock is from Stampin Up called Pixie Pink (Retired).

Embossed it with an embossing folder called Paper Lace 2.

I have been focusing on using my embossing folders since I have been entering the Challenge blog where you have to use embossing heat or dry.

I still have some embossing folders that I have never used. So my goal is to use everyone of them.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a super day! Until next time,

Freindly Hello Card

Today I have another card share for you. If you seen my last post you seen that I had received the Friendly Hello Stamp set for my birthday.

So I wanted to make another card with it. So here is my card share for today.

I stayed with the same colors as my last card. I really liked the blue and coral together.

I stamped the flowers with Calypso Coral Ink on to Calypso Coral cardstock. Stamped the leaves in Old Olive Ink.

Fussy cut the flowers and leaves out. It would be nice if this stamp set came with matching dies because I really hate to fussy cut.

I also added some Wink of Stella to the center's of the flowers. The sentiment is also from the stamp set.

Spotted this embossing folder and thought it would be perfect for this card. The folder is called Scroll Frame.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay Safe and Stay Crafty
