Free as a bird Hello and Recipe

Hello, Thanks for stopping by. Today I want to share a card with you that I made for one of my sweet aunts.

She Is going thru some very difficult times right now with some health issues. Won't post details, but I just want her to know that I am thinking of her and that she is in my prayers.

I do love how this one turned out. I think that floral paper is so pretty. It's from The Paper Studio called Floral Cluster's with leaves.
It went perfect with the Cameo Coral cardstock. Didn't realize I didn't have that ink color though. I also used Always Artichoke and white cardstock.

Love that sweet little bird stamp. I am always saying their Isn't enough bird stamps out there. I have seriously thought about making my own bird designs. But was glad when this stamp set came out.

Stamped the bird in Momento Black and colored it  with my aqua painter in Crumb Cake,Blush Blossom and a little Barely Banana for the beak. I used Always Artichoke for the leaves.

Also used an embossing folder called Quatrefoil, stitched square die, stitched circle die and some jute twine.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my card today. Hope that it will be uplifting to my Aunt Loretta. Please say a prayer for her.

On my last post I had said that I was going to be making some corn casserole for a party. I was planning on taking a picture and sharing the recipe. I totally forgot.

But I had saved a little so I could have some to bake at home so I took a picture and want to share with you the recipe.

 Corn Casserole

(This recipe is for a 9x13 pan)

Preheat oven to 350

In large bowl combine-

2 boxes of Jiffy cornbread
2 cans of whole kernel corn (drained)
2 cans of cream style corn
2 cups -sour cream
5 eggs
2 sticks of melted butter
  3/4th cup of Sugar

Mix well and pour into sprayed 9x13 pan. Bake for 1 hour. Ovens do vary. keep an eye on it. You may need to bake a little less or a little more.

Super simple recipe. My grand daughter is a very picky eater and wouldn't try corn casserole.

But when she got off the bus and I had this little dish of it that I had just pulled out of the oven, she said well I guess I can give it a try, she LOVED It!

I was so glad that she tried it. I am always telling her to just take a bite of something new so to know if you like it or not.

If you have never made It and you give it a try, let me know how it turns out.

Again, thank you for stopping by. May your day be filled with happiness and blessings.

  1. I love this card! The paper is so soft and pretty! I'm sure your Aunt will appreciate your thoughfulness. I still like receiving cards and letters in the mail. I will have to try this recipe. My husband loves creamed corn. Sounds delicious. I'm glad your Granddaughter tried it. Kids can be such picky eaters. I, like you, always tell them to try something before they put their little noses up in the air!
