Flower Birthday Card & Cinnamon Zucchini Bread Recipe

Hello,  Happy Thursday to you all. So happy you made it here. I have a Birthday card to share with you today.

I needed to make a birthday card for one of my sister's and I was really wanting to make something with my Cricut.

Awhile back I had gotten an SVG file from Simply Crafty SVGs of a flower so I thought I would start up my Cricut and give it try.

Now I have to say I was a little frustrated making this card because the blade on the Cricut is getting dull and was snagging on the cardstock. I finally changed the settings and it did help.

(Note to self)- Change blade before using Cricut again.

I think the card turned out o.k but one problem I found after it was finished is it won't sit up.

I tried coming up with something that I could add to help it but couldn't come up with anything.

I'm sure she will still like it and it is a cute design. Simply Crafty SVGs has so many great SVGs and they have several free one. This Flower card was also free and it also came with a envelope.

I embossed the blue card stock with a Big Shot Texture plate from Stampin Up called Perfect Details.

I also have another recipe to share with you all today. I have several Zucchini and decided I would make some Cinnamon Zucchini bread and wanted to share it with you all.

Cinnamon Zucchini Bread

Ingredients you will need-

1 c. shredded Zucchini
2 eggs
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. plain greek yogurt
1tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350. Spray and line the bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper.

In a small bowl add 1/2 c. white sugar and 1 Tbsp cinnamon. Mix and set aside.

In a large bowl add dry ingredients. flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix and set aside

In another large bowl add shredded Zucchini, eggs, oil, yogurt and vanilla, Mix

Sift dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Stir just until fully mixed. Don't over mix. Over mixing causes large bubbles in bread.

Pour half the batter in loaf pan. Add half of the cinnamon/sugar mixture over the batter.

Add remaining batter and then add the rest of the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Take a knife and run in through the batter to make swirls.

Bake at 350 for around 60 minutes. Ovens due vary in temperature.

To prevent burning, I cover mind with aluminum foil for the last 15-20 minutes. You may not have to do that. My oven tends to burn things if I'm not careful.

Let bread cool some before taking out of pan. This bread is also good with pecans or walnuts.

I think that's it for this post. If you make this recipe, let me know how it turns out.

Happy Day to you and remember to always spread kindness where ever you go. God Bless!

  1. Lovely card. I have that issue with my trimmer at the moment and the store that I normally get my replacement blades from has stopped stocking them. Thank you for joining in the Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.
