Good morning, so glad you could stop by. For my card today I made my granddaughter a record player card.
When she was a little girl, we would listen to all sorts of music. Having fun singing and dancing. One of the songs that we liked was a song from the 70's called Dancing Queen.
I told her that when she turned seventeen, I would play the song for her. Well, that day is here. Today is her 17th birthday. The years have flown by. I wish I could turn back time and go back to those fun times.
So, for her birthday card I wanted too somehow add that song to it. So here is the card I came up with.
The stamp and die set are from Sugar Pea Designs called Greatest Hits. Also used various dies and star punch.
I used the draw feature on Cricut to create the words to the song. It was my first time using it. I didn't have a Cricut pen in black, so I used an extra fine sharpie.
I had to take out the center pen holder and wrapped two pencil grippers around the pen. You do have to cut one side of the gripper. I tried just one gripper, but it wasn't enough to keep the pen steady. Was so happy that it actually worked.
For the card I also used S.U. clear embossing powder, versa mark, brads, heat gun, packing foam to use with my cutting dies and my very old and very loved cuttlebug.
You can't tell but the record is shiny from the clear embossing powder.
I wanted to add a disco ball but didn't have anything like it, so I cut out three circles with glitter silver cardstock. The stars are also made with yellow glitter cardstock.
Hoping that she likes her card. She will be coming later after school. We will be listening to Dancing Queen and having her favorite Strawberry Angel Cake. (You can find the recipe on the left-hand side bar.)
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
Happy Birthday Scarlett River!!!
