Baptism Cards

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I have wonderful news to share with you all.

My granddaughter Scarlett River was baptized last night, and I am beyond happy.

I believe that getting baptized is the most important day of your life and I'm so happy that I got to be there to share in this special moment with her.

She gave me less than a weeks' notice about getting baptized, so I started trying to think of a card for her.

I thought it might be a good time for me to try water coloring. I had purchased a 96 set of Arteza Real Brush Watercolor Pens at least a year and a half ago and would get nervous every time I thought about trying them. So, I forced myself to give them a try. So here is the card that I made for her.

I thought it turned out better than I thought it would. I sighed a big sigh of relief when I got the front finished.

This card was made with just the card base, no layers. I used some masking tape to make the cross and water colored some flowers around it. I really didn't know what I was doing. I think it helped that I used to draw roses a lot back in my younger days.

Here is a picture of the stamp used for the inside of the card.

Scarlett loved the card, and I'm glad that I finally tried water coloring to make her special card.

Here is a list of supplies used to make it-

Arteza Real Brush Pens in colors - bubblegum pink, rouge pink, current red, olive green, ube purple, fog gray, sunset yellow, Carolina blue.

Stampin Up Watercolor Paper

Sentiments by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps, masking tape, Memento Black Ink, Versa Mark, Clear Embossing Powder, S.U. adhesive remover Eraser.

I do want to share a little tip. If your watercolor paper starts to rip when pulling off the masking tape. You can use your heat gun, and it will help release it. I now know from experience that it works.

Also want to share another card that I made. Scarlett's guy friend Zeb was also baptized. So, I also made him a card. This one was quick and simple.

Not sure who makes this stamp set. I have had it for a long time and had never used it before. It had a clearance tag on it for $1.00. I'm thinking that I bought from JoAnns Store.

Inks used are Memento Black, S.U. Concord Crush and S.U. Cool Carribean. I found this strip of S.U.cardstock in my stash and I had already made the wavy cut on it. So, I thought it would go well with this card. I couldn't find a good sentiment to go with it, so, I made one in paint on the computer and used the printer to print it out.

Hope you liked seeing my cards and hope you have a great rest of your day.

  1. Beautiful cards, Cindy! You've done a great job creating both feminine and a masculine Baptism cards. I'm glad you used your Arteza pens! I have things like that that I buy then am reluctant to use. Your work turned out great. And isn't it nice picking up things on clearance and then finding the perfect time to use them? I love both cards so much and am sure they did too. And a very big congratulations to both of them on their faith journey! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We really appreciate you! :)
