Just Bloom Card

 Hello Paper Crafter's, As most of you all know the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop is going on.  Sooo exciting!!! 

I had participated in the fall/winter one and wanted to play along again. 

For my card I used the Coffee Joy stamp set from STAMPlorations. 

Great stamp set. Love the flowers in the coffee cup.

 I also used the sentiment and banner from the set. I clear embossed the banner and white embossed the Just Bloom. 

So, I have to tell you all that that image wasn't supposed to be used on my card.

 It was just a practice piece that I had colored. I am new to coloring and wanted to practice coloring the cup.

My granddaughter Scarlett came in my craftroom and said that she really liked it and wanted me to use it. I explained to her that it was just for practice. But she really wanted me to use it on a card.

 So, I used it just for her.  She even picked out the three green colors used on the leaves.  I told her she's a natural crafter and has a good eye.

For your Birthday (I've Got You Covered) & Pink Fluff

 Hello, Hope you all are staying well and safe. I wanted to share a birthday card that I made for my sister.

I used a digital Image from Whimsy Stamps called "I've Got You Covered" that they offered for free.  

During these crazy times of not being able to get together for parties and toilet paper being one of those hard to find items, I thought she might get a laugh out of this.

This was such a fun image to color. I was worried I wouldn't have enough of the right markers to do it.

 I only have two greens and they didn't look like they would work together. So I used a yellow first. and the gray that I used on the toilet paper was the lightest one I had. 

This Image is called Dudley, but since I am giving it to my sister I added a few eyelashes to make it look more girly.

To make it look more like a birthday card, I added a stamped and fussy cut party hat and of course had to add a balloon. I also added some confetti.

I am pleased how it turned out and it was really fun to make. 





I used to work in home health care and helped the elderly. One of my clients was a woman named Mary. So sweet and kind hearted.

 I have always had a soft spot for her in my heart. She had, had such a horrible childhood and much of her adult life as well.

 One of her favorite desserts that I would make for her was Pink Fluff.

My sweet friend Mary passed away recently from the Caronavirus and it breaks my heart that she had no one that loved her by her side. 

So today in honor of Mary, I want to share the recipe with you.


Pink Fluff

One container Cottage Cheese
1 small box strawberry jello
1can pineapple (drained)
1/2 bag miniature marshmallows
1 tub of cool whip




 Add cottage cheese to large mixing bowl. Add packet of strawberry jello, mix
Add pineapple and marshmallows , mix
Fold in cool whip 

Cover and refrigerate for several hours. I usually do mine the night before.
I like how easy this dessert is to make. Nice in the summer because you don't have to start the oven and it will always remind me of Mary.

Thankful for You Card

 Hello Crafter's, Glad you could stop by. The weather is starting to really warm up here. Which is nice. But I won't like it when it gets super hot, so I'm enjoying these days. 

On my last post I had mentioned that I hadn't been feeling well. So they had me take the test for the Coronavirus. Because I had some of the symptoms. Was so nervous waiting on the results. But thankfully they came back negative and I am feeling so much better.

I'm dedicating this post to all  our wonderful essential workers. 

Since our mail lady is one, I decided to make her a little card just to let her know how Thankful we are for her.

  I love this little card, I think it's so cheerful and cute. I thought that sweet little bird image was perfect for this card. I had forgot that I had that little sun stamp, so was glad to get to use it. 

I colored the bird with Spectrum Noir and Master's Touch Markers. 

 The sentiment stamp is from  a set called Sheltering Tree and the embossing folder is called Cloudy Day.

Since I HATE fussy cutting, I finally figured out how to get my Cricut to cut out my images.

 Oh I was so excited when it worked and I love that I can change the size of my stamped images. This is truly a game changer for me because I can't fussy cut very well at all. 

The last time I tried, I accidentally cut part of it off. I got so frustrated, that's when I knew it was time to learn how to cut it out with the Cricut.

Peony Bouquet for Mom & Butter Dip Biscuits

 It's Sunday afternoon and the sun is shinning. A beautiful Mother's Day. 

With the times being what they are, my sister's are planning to visit my Mom. They are taking their lawn chairs and sit outside. 
Unfortunately I haven't been feeling well so I don't get to go. Don't want to get anyone sick.  

Wanted to share with you the card I made for her. She is always so excited to get a card from me. 

Love how this Peony Bouquet card turned out. I think my Mom will love it to.

Can not remember where I got the little butterfly stamp. I colored them with Spectrum Noir and Master's Touch Marker's. I fussy cut them out. Which I hate to do.

The Ink colors that I used are, Lavender Lace, Gorgeous Grape,Barely Banana,Summer Sun,Bashful Blue,Marina Mist,and Momento Black Ink 

I would have had a hard time making this without my Misti and I had to make masks from post it notes. So it did take a little longer.

 I do think it turned out pretty. My husband said It's my best so far. That's saying a lot coming from him. He usually doesn't say a lot when it comes to my cards. 


 

The other day I made Country fried steak and white gravy. I needed some biscuits. So I made some homemade called Butter dip biscuits, also know as butter swim biscuits. So decided to share the recipe with you all.


Butter Dip Biscuits 

Preheat oven to 400

You will need

2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup melted butter


Melt butter in microwave and pour into a 8x8 baking dish. Mix dry ingredients, add buttermilk. Mix together. Don't over mix
Drop into melted butter. Spread out but try not to flatten them to much and cut into squares.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. 

I love how simple these are to make. I had one the next morning with homemade Strawberry Jam. So good!

Card for Alivia & Buttermilk Pie

 Hello, How are you all doing? I'm doing good. Going to be in the 70s today. My favorite kind of weather.

My niece Alivia is turning 18. I thought she was turning 17. I was so shocked when I found out. Wow time flies.

I decided to make her a card using a free digital image from  All Dressed Up Digital Stamps. 

I know It's not your usual looking birthday card, But I loved the image so much I just had to use it.  

I colored it with my Spectrum Noir and Master's Touch Alcohol Marker's. I'm still new to using alcohol marker's and I know it's not perfect. But I'm o.k.with it and I think my niece Livi will love it. 

I just got my order from Stampin Up and had got the doilies that are retiring. So I decided on using one on this card. I did cut it in half so I can use the other half on another card.  



I made a couple of Buttermilk pies yesterday and thought I would share it with you all.



Buttermilk Pie

Preheat oven to 350

You will need-

I stick of Oleo (Butter)
1-1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup- Flour
3 Eggs
1/2 cup Buttermilk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 pie crust


Melt Oleo (Butter), add sugar and flour. Mix well. Add beaten eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.

My crust tends to burn, so I put aluminum foil around edges.

Pour mixture into thawed pie crust and place on a pizza pan. 

Bake for 45 minutes at 350. I cook mine at 325 part of the time because my oven seems to burn it if I don't.

 I use to make these more often when my kids were still at home but  Not as much anymore. This is not a pie you want if you are trying to diet. Well you can at least have a tiny piece.
