Wedding Card & recipe

Hello, so happy you could stop by. we are now into the month of April. I didn't make any post in March; I spent most of my time in a couple of hospitals staying with my husband during his illness. He is now in a rehabilitation center here in our hometown. So, I'm able to stay at home now.

My great niece Alivia will be getting married soon so for today's card I made her and her soon to be husband a wedding card.

I decided on making a wedding cake card. This card took a little longer to make because my bad back is acting up again and I can only sit on my craft room chair for about 10 minutes at a time.

It did feel good to get back in my craft room after being gone for most of the month of March.

I cut and embossed three pieces of white cardstock, used a corner rounder from S.U. for the corners and a S.U. scalloped border punch for the pink cake plate. I hadn't used those punches in a long time.

The flowers and leaves were made by metal dies. Not sure what brand the sentiment is from. I removed all of my stamps from their wood bases so some of them I can't remember. All of the cardstock that I used is from S.U. I also added white pearls from Paper Studio to each little flower.

Every once in a while, I like to share a recipe with you all. So, I thought I would share one of my family's favorite pasta dishes.

When I eat out at Olive Garden, I always order their 5 cheese Ziti. But we don't eat out that often anymore So, I started making it myself. So, here's the recipe if you would like to try it yourself.

5 Cheese Ziti

For pasta & sauce
16 oz. box Ziti
1 jar marinara sauce (I have also used Ragu 6 cheese sauce)
1 jar alfredo sauce
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
little salt for pasta water

Topping- 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup grated romano/parmesan blend cheese, 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, 2 tsp minced garlic, parsley flakes(optional)

Cook pasta, preheat oven to 350, spray 9x13 baking pan w/ cooking spray. (Make sure pasta is not cooked all the way, it will cook further in oven.)
In large bowl combine pasta ingredients, gently mix in ziti pasta, pour pasta mixture in sprayed baking pan.
In separate bowl mix together topping and sprinkle over top of pasta.

Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until top is golden brown, cheese is melted, and sauce is bubbling. serve & enjoy!

Sorry for such a long post. Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day!

Small gift/treat box

Hello crafter's it's almost Valentines Day. I was planning on making a Valentine card, but it looks like it's not going to happen. But I was in need of a little gift box to put my granddaughters' earrings in that I got her for Valentines Day. So, I decided on a simple one. I had made some of these a long time ago.

This box is super easy to make. With a little scoring, cutting with scissors and a tiny bit of glue it's done. I did use a Stampin Up circle punch to punch out a notch in the front to help open it. I hadn't used that punch for at least three years. It's feels good when you get to use those neglected crafty things.

You can decorate the box any way you want. I decided to use some letter cutting dies that I had never used to spell out WOAINI which means I love you in Chinese. It's something that my Granddaughter and I say to each other often.

I have made this box before but that was many moons ago, so I wasn't for sure where I had seen it. So, I went on a search for this exact box, and I found someone who makes it. She is on YouTube, and she goes by Sunny Day Stamping.  So, if you would like to make it you can go check her out.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. Hope you all have a wonderful day and Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

Scarlett's Birthday Card

Happy Friday everyone, It's definitely a happy day here today. My beautiful granddaughter Scarlett is celebrating her 18th birthday today.

Scarlett loves everything Snoopy, so I thought that she would love to have a card with the funny and mischief beagle on it.

I decided to make a slimline card because I knew that I wanted to add several things. Fussy cut out Snoopy and Woodstock. I really don't like to fussy cut, not really good at it. I'm surprised they made it without losing any body parts.

For the balloons I used Scarletts three favorite colors red, purple and brown

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Stampendous called Happy Messages, It's a great sentiment stamp set

The number 18 is from Studio G

Base, clouds, grass and balloons are from varies cutting dies

Alcohol marker to color Woodstock

Also used Momento Black Ink, Versa Mark and Clear Embossing Powder

I also thought that I would share with you a little crocheted Snoopy that I made for the birthday girl.

(Sorry the picture is a little blurry)

I don't crochet very often so I'm not that good at it. This one was my second try at making it. The first one just didn't look right.

That's going to be it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Special Day Card

Happy New Year to you all, so happy that you could stop by. For my first post for the new year, I am sharing a birthday card with you.

It took me awhile to come up with a card to make. I kept changing my mind.

I knew that I wanted to add a bird. So, I finally came up with this.

Here is a list of the supplies used

Bird stamp- Not sure who makes it. It was gifted to me, it's new but wasn't in any packaging. So not sure if it's branded or not. This was my first time using it.

Sentiment was created with the paint app on my computer and then printed out. The font is called -Viner Hand ITC

Cardstock- S.U. Riding Hood Red & white

Inks- Alcohol markers, Sponged the sky with SU Bashful Blue

Embossing folder- Forrest Branches

White satin ribbon colored with alcohol marker to match bird

Wink of Stella on berries

Thanks for stopping by and would love for you to leave me a comment. Wishing you all many blessings in the new year.
