Snowflakes Christmas Card & Recipe

Hello crafter's, Today is the day before Christmas Eve. I finally have all of the presents wrapped and have placed them under the tree.

It's kind of hard to believe that Christmas is already here. Seems like the months just fly by anymore.

Well let's get on to my card

For this card I have made a trio of embossed snowflakes on Crumb Cake cardstock.  This card is basically the same as the one on my last post. But the last one was done white on white with blue snowflakes. Can't decide on which one I like better. I do love kraft colored cardstock. It goes with every color.

I couldn't decide on what ribbon to use on this one. I thought about just using some jute twine, but my son came in my craftroom to see what I was doing. I told him that I was trying to decide what ribbon to use. He pointed to the blue/green tinsel and said that one. So, I went with it. (Thanks for the help, Jacob) 💖

Here is a list of supplies used

Stamp Set and sentiment- SU Snowflakes

Cardstock- SU Crumb Cake and White

WOW White Embossing Powder and Versa Mark

Stitch Circle Nesting Dies

Embossing Folder SU Softly Falling

Stampin Diminsionals and Tinsel

This will be my last post for this year, so I wanted to share one more recipe. A few days ago, I made some peanut butter fudge, so I thought I would share it here. I enjoy sharing recipes with you all and also a big reason for sharing here is for my granddaughter Scarlett. It makes it convenient for her if she wants to make any of them, especially with the added picture.

Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Fudge

The first thing that you need to do is butter an 8x8 dish or place parchment paper in it. I just use parchment paper because I can just pull the whole thing out for easy cutting.

In a medium to large cooking pot add 2 cups of white sugar and 1/2 cup milk. Turn on burner too low to med heat. (I keep mine close to medium heat most of the time) Stir and continue to stir until mixture starts to boil. Let boil for 2 and a 1/2 minutes. Don't forget to stir, stir, stir. especially when it's boiling. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 cup of peanut butter. Stir until melted and starts to thicken. Quickly pour into your dish. Set on counter until cool, about an hour. I then place mine in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and then take out and cut into squares. Store in an airtight container.

Most people who have never made fudge before thinks it a big process but as you can see it's pretty simple. If you want to make a larger batch, just double the recipe and double the boiling time. If you do a double batch a 9x13 cake pan works great.

There are several different ways to make peanut butter fudge. But this old-fashioned recipe is my favorite. I have fun memories of helping my mom make big batches at a time. We would have to take turns mixing when it would start to thicken. It's a wonder we got it mixed together in time from laughing so much. Sweet precious memories. This will be my second Christmas without her. I thought of her while making this fudge. Words can't describe how much I miss her.

Since this is my last post for this year, I want to say thank you to everyone who has visited my blog this year and for all the nice comments that you left. I really appreciate it.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a New Year full of good health, laughter and of course lots of crafting!

Warm Winter Wishes Card

Hello Crafter's, I know that everyone is busy at this time of year so thank you for taking a little of your time to stop by. I do really appreciate it.

For this year's Christmas cards, I decided to stay with one kind of card instead of several different kinds. My back has been giving me a lot of trouble and wasn't for sure if I could even get them done.  So, I just wanted to create a simpler card to save on time. So here is this year's Christmas card.

Even though this is a simpler card, it still takes quite a bit of time when you have to make several and my back being so bad I can't sit for very long at a time. So, it takes me twice as long to get cards made.

I knew for this year's card I wanted to use the softly falling embossing folder and I thought the snowflake stamp set went well with it. For a bit of sparkle and fun, I decided to use silver tinsel instead of ribbon.

Here is a list of supplies used to create this card.

Stamp Set- S.U. Snowflakes, the sentiment is from the same set.

White cardstock, Inks- S.U. Night of Navy & Versa Mark

Stitch circle nesting dies, S.U. clear embossing powder, S.U. embossing folder Softly Falling, Stampin Dimensionals and tinsel ribbon

That's it for me today, hope you all have a wonderful day and wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Truck load of flowers Birthday Card & Recipe

Hello and welcome to my blog. Back in June I was a challenge winner over at A Cut Above and won a e-gift card to A Cherry on Top. One of the items that I got in my order was a stamp set from Hampton Art. So, for today's card I wanted to share with you all a card that I made using one of the images.

This stamp is more of a spring- summer image so I tried to color the leaves to look more like fall.

I also wanted the truck to look old, so I added a few colors to make it look a little rusted.

Here is a list of supplies used-

ARRTX Colored Pencils

Stamp Set- Hampton Art, Sentiment- S.U. Garden Birdhouses

Cardstock- Rich Razzleberry, Vanilla, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa

S.U. Designer paper, Ink- Chocolate Chip, Sizzix Embossing Folder,

S.U. Border Die, Stitched Rectangle Die, Circle Die

Alcohol Ink blending pen by Ranger for blending

Here is a link to the store- A cherry on Top

My niece brought me some green plums, so I decided to make a dessert with them, thought you all might like it. The good thing about this recipe is that you can use several different kinds of fruit like peaches, apples, pears or apricots.

Plum Buckle Dessert

Ingredients you will need

For fruit mixture-

2 cups of sliced fresh plums (I used closer to 2 1/2 cups)

1/2 stick of sliced cold unsalted butter

3 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

For batter-

1 cup flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 stick of unsalted butter at room temperature

3 large eggs

3 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350 and butter a 9-inch baking dish

In a medium bowl add sliced plums (No need to peel)

cinnamon, nutmeg and salt, mix together

For batter-

In large bowl combine flour, softened butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. stir until well combined. Don't over mix

Pour and spread half of the batter in the bottom of a buttered baking dish. Add plum mixture, Add cold sliced butter all over plums. Spread rest of batter over top. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. If it looks like it's starting to burn you can place a piece of aluminum foil loosely over it. Let cool a little before serving.

This was my first time baking with plums, and we all liked it and thought that it was a good fall dessert.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a nice day.

Two hearts Wedding Card

Hello there, Glad you could stop by. For today's card I am sharing a wedding card that I made for my great niece Magnolia and her new husband Will. They recently had their wedding and today they will be having the reception.

It took me a while to think of what I wanted on the front of the card. I had all sorts of idea's running through my mind. Anyway, I finally decided on this design. Hopefully they will like it.

I cut out the bowtie with scissors so it's not perfect. Used circle dies for the circles, and an old, neglected heart punch from Stampin Up. Label die for sentiment. Embossed the bride heart, added pearls and diamond gems also a blue satin ribbon. Cardstock is from Stampin Up.

 Congratulations Magnolia & Will

Thanks for stopping by, Hope you can make it back again and hope you all have a beautiful day.

Joyful Sunflower Card

Hello Crafter's, Hope you all are doing well and so glad you could take a little time to stop by my blog. I can't get over that we are now already in the month of November.

I do love this time of year. Now don't laugh at me but one of my favorite things about fall is when you're driving and drive over a bunch of leaves in the road and you look in your rear-view mirror and see leaves swirling around and they look like their dancing. I love it so much, it just makes me happy.

Today is my daughter's birthday, so I wanted to share with you all the card that I made for her.

This is also her favorite time of year. So, I always make her a fall themed card. I made her a sunflower card last year and decided to go with sunflowers again since they are her favorite flower.

Here is a list of supplies used:

Birdhouse Birthday Card & Recipe

Hello and welcome, glad you could stop by. For today's post I am sharing a birthday card that I made for one of my sister's.

I had made her a card but then I couldn't find it. I have no Idea what happened to it. I'm afraid it may have accidently got thrown away. So, I had to make another. But not the same one. The other one would have taken too long, and I needed one quick.

I have had this birdhouse stamp set for good while and this was my first time using it. I colored the leaves in orange and brown to make it look like fall time. I haven't bought any new craft stuff for close to a year because I have so many things that I still haven't used.

Supplies used:

Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set, Cardstock-Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and white, Alcohol Markers, Chocolate Chip Ink, Stitched Banner Die and More Mustard Ribbon from S.U.

I almost used twine on this card but decided on ribbon for the added color.

Earlier this month I made a cake for my grandsons' birthday. I thought that I would share a recipe for the icing. My family loves it, so I thought you all might like it as well.

Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Icing

Ingredients

1/2 cup room temperature butter, salted or unsalted, if using salted omit salt

8 ounces of room temperature full fat cream cheese

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter room temperature

3 cups powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

pinch of salt if using unsalted butter

In a large bowl combine softened butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter. mix well for about 2 or 3 minutes.

Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mix on medium speed until combined. Scrap sides of bowl

Add vanilla and salt if using unsalted butter. Mix until combined.

That's it, time to decorate your cake or cupcakes. If you will be pipping the icing. Put in fridge for at least 20 minutes.

This is enough icing for a 9x13 cake pan or for two 9-inch round pans. For his cake I made two separate cakes and didn't layer them, so that he could take one home and have it all to himself.

That's going to be all from me today. Hope you all are enjoying these beautiful fall days and if you try the icing let me know how you like it. Blessing to you all!

Two October Birthday Cards

Hello to you and also hello to October. Back in June I was a challenge winner over at A Cut Above and won a e-gift card to A Cherry on Top. One of the items that I got in my order was a stamp set from Hampton Art. So, for today's card I wanted to share with you all a card that I made using one of the images.

I colored the image with alcohol markers; the sentiment is from S.U. called Garden Birdhouses. Used kraft cardstock for the base and Soft Sky from S.U. and Ivory. Can't remember where the little doily die come from. Maybe In Love Arts Store but not sure.

This next card is for my grandson Walker's birthday. He likes very simple cards, and this card is definitely simple.

I had made him a card like this one last year and he really liked it and told me that he wanted the same card every year. So, I did. I did change the sentiment a little and the shape to a rectangle instead of square. I chose rectangle this time because I didn't want to make an envelope for a square card. Used a sharpie to draw the image.

That's it for me today. Hope you have a good day. Stay crafty my friends and hope you can make it back again.

Baby Booties Card

Happy Tuesday, Glad you stopped by. It's not that often that I get to make a baby card, so I had a fun time making this one.

As you can see, I got to create my card by combining my two favorite hobbies, card making and crochet. This card is for my great niece Amber she also crochets so I knew that I wanted to try and add something crocheted to the card.

I searched around on the internet for something tiny to make but didn't find much. I finally came across a post on how to make tiny baby booties from a woman in Britain. I didn't have the kind of yarn that she used so I used the thinnest pink yarn that I had.

Even though mine doesn't quite look like hers I do think they turned out pretty cute. I did crochet separate little pieces to make cuffs on the booties.

I have had the circle sentiment with the moon from Stampin Up for several years. It was so nice getting to use it again. Added some Wink of Stella to the moon for some added sparkle.

The pink cardstock is from Coredinations, Pink gingham ribbon is from S.U., Also used a stitched scalloped die and a tiny dot embossing folder and white Cardstock.

I thought I would also share with you a pair of real baby booties that I made to also give to her. I had never made booties before. They did work up fairly quick. These would probably be best for a baby around 3 months.

I think the card and booties turned out pretty cute and I think she will love both. Looking forward to seeing the newest member of our family due in November.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest creations and would love for you to leave a comment.

Happy Crafty Day to you all!

Cute Birthday Card

Hello crafter's, we are already in the middle of September. I'm thinking the first day of fall is on the 22nd. Was hoping to get this posted earlier today but our internet server has been out most of the day. Hopefully they have the problem fixed.

I have a birthday card to share with you all today. This one is for my sister's birthday.

I am beyond scarred of mice, I have tried using house mouse stamps before and I just can't do it.

But this one is a cutie and I had no problem coloring it. This is from Whipper Snapper Designs, and I colored it with alcohol markers.

Thanks for stopping by, Hope you have a happy crafty day!

Sizzix Bird Card

Hello and happy Monday! Today I have a birthday card to share. For this card I used a die set from Sizzix. This was my first time using it.

I've had it for at least two years. I haven't been buying any new crafty things. Wanting to focus on using things that I already have. I'm sure most of you have things that you haven't used yet either.

I do like this bird die set but there was one piece for the chest that I couldn't figure out how to use it. It wouldn't cut out all the way. So, I decided to just stamp the chest with some specks of color.

Here is a list of supplies used-

Sizzix Thinlits Bird Die Set

Stamps- S.U. Itty Bitty Backgrounds & Friendly Hello

Cardstock- Brocade Blue, Cameo Coral, Bashful Blue, Summer Sun, Old Olive, River Rock, Close to Cocoa, white and black. The red and pink are also from S.U. but they were in my scraps so not sure of the color names.

Metal background die and a stitched label die

I thought that I would share a good summertime dessert recipe with you all.

This one is for a no bake blueberry cheesecake. I love blueberries and when it gets hot weather, I don't really like to heat up the kitchen, so I like to make no bake desserts, and this one is so good and easy to make.

 No Bake Blueberry Cheesecake

Ingredients-

9 graham cracker sheets

1/2 c. melted butter

1 tbsp sugar

16 oz. cream cheese

8 oz cool whip

1 c. powdered sugar

1 tsp lemon juice

21 oz can of blueberry pie filling

First thing is to set out cream cheese to soften to room temperature. I cut it into pieces and put in the large bowl and cover it.

Next you have to get those graham crackers to a fine crumb, you can do it in a food processor, or you can also use a rolling pin.

Add graham crackers to medium bowl and mix in sugar and melted butter.

Add crumb mixture to an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish and press evenly on bottom.

(This time I split the recipe in half to make two desserts. I used a 9inch glass pie dish and a smaller pie pan). It's just not as thick if you do this. But you do get more servings.

Put the dish in the fridge while you make the filling

In a large mixing bowl mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, cool whip and lemon juice. Mix with a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth.

Spread over crumb mixture and top with blueberry filling using a rubber spatula. Chill in fridge for at least 4 hours.

Well, that's it for me, if any of you try the dessert let me know how you liked it.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget about those crafty items that you have never used.

Happy day to you all!

Baptism Cards

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I have wonderful news to share with you all.

My granddaughter Scarlett River was baptized last night, and I am beyond happy.

I believe that getting baptized is the most important day of your life and I'm so happy that I got to be there to share in this special moment with her.

She gave me less than a weeks' notice about getting baptized, so I started trying to think of a card for her.

I thought it might be a good time for me to try water coloring. I had purchased a 96 set of Arteza Real Brush Watercolor Pens at least a year and a half ago and would get nervous every time I thought about trying them. So, I forced myself to give them a try. So here is the card that I made for her.

I thought it turned out better than I thought it would. I sighed a big sigh of relief when I got the front finished.

This card was made with just the card base, no layers. I used some masking tape to make the cross and water colored some flowers around it. I really didn't know what I was doing. I think it helped that I used to draw roses a lot back in my younger days.

Here is a picture of the stamp used for the inside of the card.

Scarlett loved the card, and I'm glad that I finally tried water coloring to make her special card.

Here is a list of supplies used to make it-

Arteza Real Brush Pens in colors - bubblegum pink, rouge pink, current red, olive green, ube purple, fog gray, sunset yellow, Carolina blue.

Stampin Up Watercolor Paper

Sentiments by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps, masking tape, Memento Black Ink, Versa Mark, Clear Embossing Powder, S.U. adhesive remover Eraser.

I do want to share a little tip. If your watercolor paper starts to rip when pulling off the masking tape. You can use your heat gun, and it will help release it. I now know from experience that it works.

Also want to share another card that I made. Scarlett's guy friend Zeb was also baptized. So, I also made him a card. This one was quick and simple.

Not sure who makes this stamp set. I have had it for a long time and had never used it before. It had a clearance tag on it for $1.00. I'm thinking that I bought from JoAnns Store.

Inks used are Memento Black, S.U. Concord Crush and S.U. Cool Carribean. I found this strip of S.U.cardstock in my stash and I had already made the wavy cut on it. So, I thought it would go well with this card. I couldn't find a good sentiment to go with it, so, I made one in paint on the computer and used the printer to print it out.

Hope you liked seeing my cards and hope you have a great rest of your day.

Red, White & Blue Birthday Card!

Hello there, glad you had time to stop by. The weather has been hot here and I don't like it at all. The heat really makes me sick. So just trying to stay in the cool.

I was in need of a birthday card for my niece and her birthday is July 4th so for this year's card I decided to go with red, white and blue.

This is my first time using this die. Trying to use things that I have never used. Wasn't for sure how it would look in these colors, but I think it looks pretty good.

Trying to make this post as short as possible, I know you all have other things to do. Thanks for visiting and I would LOVE for you to leave a comment. If you do, please leave the name of your blog so that I can visit you. Happy day to you all and stay cool!

Hello Kitty Graduation Card & Crochet

We are now in the month of June. The weather is warming up. Dreading the summer heat.

I remember when my granddaughter Scarlett was around five years old. She came in the house after playing outside. She said Mamaw I'm sweating. I've never sweated before, and I don't like it. She was so serious. I had to laugh; she is just like me when it comes to hot weather.

I have another graduation card to share today. On my last post I had shared a Hello Kitty graduation card for my granddaughter. Since I had another H.K. image with the SVGs that I had purchased I decided to use it on the card for my great niece Magnolia.

Used my Cricut to create most of this card. I used blue and red cardstock for her school's colors. I used wink of stella for some sparkle on the congrats, bow and stars.

I also thought that I would share the Hello kitty that I crocheted for my granddaughter. I made it in her school colors of purple and gold. I gave it to her today at her graduation party. She really loved it.

Thanks to all you crafty girls for taking the time to visit my blog. I really appreciate it. If you comment, please leave your blog name so that I can come visit you. Have a great day!

Congratulations Magnolia Lain!

Scarlett's Graduation Card

It's Saturday and also graduation day. My granddaughter Scarlett is graduating from high school. So, I'm here with a graduation card to share with you all.

My granddaughter loves hello kitty so I thought it would be the perfect graduation card for her.

Most everything was created on my Cricut. The sentiment is from dafont called candy beans and cut out the sentiment with a scalloped cutting die. I used a tiny dot embossing folder for the background. The colors that I used are the schools' colors. After this picture was taken, I added some wink of stella to the bow and stars for some sparkle.

Found this cute Hello Kitty SVG at Svg Squad .com. You do have to purchase the Images; they are not free.

I also thought that I would share with you all a crocheted Mochi Bunny that I made for my granddaughter for Easter.

I found the tutorial on you tube. The pattern calls for thin chenille yarn, but I didn't have any thin, so I used a thicker one and I used a 5.5 mm hook, so the bunny turned out quite a bit larger. I think the tutorial calls for a 2.5 or 3mm hook.

I thought it turned out really cute and my granddaughter loves it. If you crochet, this is a fun one to make. The youtuber's name is chubbiesbyash.

Well, that's it for me today, Have a great day!

Congratulations Scarlett River!
