Floral Background Card & Strawberry Angel Cake

Hello my crafty friends. It's cold here today in Indiana. Snowing outside. I don't like cold weather but the snow looks so pretty as it is falling.

Have a few things to share with you today. First I want to share with you a card that I made for one of my friends. Her Dad passed away.

Thought about making this a black and white card then while looking through my cardstock I seen those two colors of blue and the green and had to give it a try. Glad I went with those. I like the colors together.

Also want to share a recipe with you. My grand daughter Scarlett's favorite dessert that I make is Strawberry Angel Cake.

She ask me to make her one for her birthday and so I did and say's she wants one every year.

Strawberry Angel Cake

Ingredients-

1 large container of Strawberries
Angel Food Cake
1 container of Cool Whip
1  6 oz. strawberry jello
2 cups of boiling water
1/2 - or 3/4th cup sugar

Rinse off Strawberries and cut up. Add sugar and stir. I take a fork and mash some to get the juices started. Cover and place in refrigerator. I let mine sit over night.

Right before I start making this, I place bowl of strawberries in freezer. Just long enough to get really cold.

Cut angel food cake in half. Pull apart pieces of first half and place in 9 x 13 pan.

Pull apart other half and sit aside for later.

In another bowl add 2 cups of boiling water to strawberry jello. Stir until desolved. Add strawberries immediately and mix well.

Fold in spoonfuls of cool whip until well blended. Spoon half of mixture over cake.

Add rest of cake pieces and pour remaining mixture over top.Don't stir, but make sure all pieces of cake is pushed down in that delicious mixture.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. 4 or more hours are best for setting up all the way.
Now this cake is not really considered a real cake but it has cake in it. So I call it a cake.
You can also use frozen strawberries that you can get in the freezer section at the store. I have never used them. But nice to know you can use fresh or frozen.

She took the dessert home with her and I had forgot to take a picture. So I took one of my piece.

She called me a few days after her birthday and told me it was all gone and wanted to know if I would make another. I had to laugh.

This is a pretty yummy dessert and pretty easy to make. If you decide to give this a try. Please come back and let me know how you liked it.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy day to you!
