Have yourself a Merry little Coffee

 Hello Crafter's, glad you could stop by. Want to share a card with you that I have made for the Fall/Winter 2019 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop Challenge. 
It is from Friday November 1st - Friday November 8th.

 Oh my, the hop has been so fun and have gotten so much Inspiration. 

I don't have a lot of coffee stamps (yet) so I made this using a digital Image I downloaded from one of the sponsors of the hop.

This was my first time using a digital Image. So, I was a little nervous. But it was easy to download. The hardest part was cutting it out. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Let It Ride Birthday Card and White Milk Gravy

 Hey Crafter's, Glad you could stop by today to see my latest card that I have made.

My Daughter's birthday is today. Won't say how old she is. She may not want me saying. I will say she's over 21. Hee! Hee!

My daughter LOVES horses. So I knew for this year I wanted to make her a card with a horse on it. As soon as I seen the stamp set "Let It Ride" I knew I had to get it. 

So here Is the card I made for her.

 I have to say I enjoyed putting this card together. I had bought that embossed brown paper years ago. So glad I finally used it. It's called Brown pressed Tiles from the Paper Studio.

I was at the Dollar Tree one day and seen the roll of Burlap ribbon. I knew that it would be perfect for this card. 

Did a little water coloring for the sky and grass using Marina Mist, Old Olive and Mellow Moss. Stamped the horse in Timber Brown and colored it with a Stampin Blendabilities in the color Nude. 
Framed the picture with a scalloped rectangle die in Old Olive.

 Used the weathered background stamp in chocolate chip on the marina mist cardstock. Thought that made it look a little more rustic. The base of the card is Close to Cocoa.

Almost didn't add the sentiment to the front of the card because I wasn't for sure it would look right but I managed to get it on there. I think it looks o.k. I also made the rope using some jute twine.

I'm pretty sure she Is going to love this one. It will remind her of her horse Dolly. 


I also thought I would share a recipe with you. My grandkids spent the night a few nights ago. So I decided to make a breakfast supper. Made some white gravy and thought I would share with you. 


White Milk Gravy

You will need-

4 Cups Milk
8 Tbs. Flour
1 Stick butter
Pepper
Salt

In a skillet add 1 stick butter. Melt, to that add 8 Tbs. flour. Mix and add 2 cups milk. Add pepper and just a little salt and vigorously whisk to get the lumps out and then add 2 more cups milk. When it starts to bubble keep stirring until it's thicker.  Don't leave it, it will stick to bottom. Take off heat. It will thicken up more after it's taken off.

 That's it, wasn't that simple? If you need more just double recipe. I sometimes double it so that we can have it for the next day.

Halloween Ribbon Treat Bags

 Happy Halloween to you, glad you could stop by. On my last post I shared with you some cute cat treat boxes that I made for my grand kids. Today I want to share with you a few treat bags that I have made out of ribbon.

I had seen a video on youtube of someone making these and had to give them a try. I did make mine a tiny bit longer. I think I added an extra inch.

 The ribbons, pipe cleaners and the bat and spider rings were all bought from the Dollar Tree. So these were pretty cheap to make.

Used my glue gun to glue the sides together. Used my crop a dile to punch holes for the pipe cleaners. Also used a circle stitched die, halloween stamps and some bakers twine.

Thought they turned out cute. Well I need to go. Going to go make my treat cups for trick or treaters.

Black Cat Treat Boxes

 Hello, Glad you could stop by. I just finished some Halloween treat boxes and wanted to get them posted. 

This was my first time EVER creating anything with a SVG. It wasn't hard at all. I don't know why I hadn't tried it before. 

These were so fun to make. Are they perfect? No but that's o.k. My grand kids won't mind. I do know that I need a new blade for my Cricut.  The black cardstock didn't cut real clean on a few areas.

I found these cute boxes at Simply Crafty SVGs and it was free. How awesome is that!


I used Stampin Up card stock in Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie for the ears and nose.I used a white gel pen for the whiskers and for the eyes and used acetate for the mouth. The paper that I used was from a big Halloween paper pack that I found at a yard sale.

Sheltering Tree Card & Recipe

 Hello. It's getting late. Going on 9 p.m. My husband went to watch the football game with his brother and the grandkids went home, they have been on fall break and have basically been here for most of the week. so I have the house to my self for awhile. That doesn't happen very often. So made me a cup of coffee and thought I would get this post posted.

 It's getting close to Halloween. Are you crafter's doing any Halloween projects?  I have been working on a few things. I need to be working on them tonight but I'm just to tired.

 I made some cute Halloween boxes last year for trick or treaters. and also some bags for my grandkids. Here is the links if you would like to see them.

Made a birthday card for my sister and thought I would share it with you all because that's what we paper craft bloggers do. Right? Hee!

I do love to make fall cards and I enjoyed this one. So simple to make. Just randomly added ink colors to the tree stamp. 
I like the added jute twine. Reminded me of the rope from the swing. 


I also wanted to share a recipe with you. My grandson had been wanting me to make a Apple Crisp. I have made them in the past but didn't see my recipe. So I got creative and come up with this one. 


Apple Double Crumble (Thought this was the perfect name for it)

You will need

3 cans of Apple pie filling

2 1/4 C. Quick Oats
2 1/4 C. Flour
2 1/4 C. Brown sugar
2 TBS Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
3 sticks melted butter

The ingredients that you add to the apples are below.

Preheat oven 350
Butter a 9x13 pan

This part is to mix with apples-
In a microwave safe bowl melt 1/2 stick of butter. To that add a little cinnamon, brown sugar, vanilla and 1/2 tsp of cornstarch.  I didn't measure the other three ingredients.  Oops wasn't thinking at the time. 

In large bowl add apples. Mix in mixture and put in pan and bring just to a boil. Turn off

In a large bowl add remaining ingredients. Add melted butter last. Mix well. 

Add some of the oat mixture to the buttered 9 x 13 pan. spread and press down. (enough to spread over entire bottom.) 

Add Apple mixture and then drop spoonfuls of the oat mixture all over the top. Take a fork to help spread it out. 

Bake on 350 for 1 hour

It turned out delicious. The grandkids loved it and ate several bowls and my husband loves it to. This will be my go to recipe now.  Would be great on a snowy day.

Thank you card and recipe

  Hello, so glad you could stop by! Wanted to share a thank you card that I made. 

 I love fall so much, and was super excited to finally get to play with this stamp set.

I stamped the image in Night of Navy on Crumb Cake card stock, then stamped it again on white card stock, and cut it out. Next, I sponged a little Crumb Cake on the image. 

The flowers were colored using Tangelo Twist, Summer Sun, Real Red, Copic Marker olive G99, and with the Signo white gel pen. The woodgrain background stamp was stamped in Crumb Cake.

Also used-
Grossgrain ribbon in More Mustard
Wavy stitched die
Jute twine




On my last post, I told you that I would be posting a recipe for persimmon pudding. I thought I would share it with you today.

This persimmon pudding is a little different from the traditional one's. It has a brown sugar syrup on it. 


Here is the recipe:



Persimmon Pudding with Brown Sugar Syrup

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Ingredients-

1 C. Persimmon Pulp
1 C. white sugar
1 C. flour
2 small eggs or 1 large egg
1/2 C. milk
1/2 C. evaporated milk
2 Tbs. butter (very soft)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla

Next, in a large mixing bowl add-

1 C. sugar, 2 tbs. softened butter mix with mixer. Add 2 small eggs, 1/4 tsp vanilla Mix

Then, in a separate bowl, add 1 cup flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp baking powder. Mix (set to the side)

Add persimmon pulp into sugar, and butter mixture. Then mix, and add both milks. After, mix and then slowly add flour mixture.

Spray your dish, pour mixture into dish, and bake. You'll need to bake it around 30 minutes. Some ovens do vary, so keep an eye on it.

While baking, make syrup.

You will need to take persimmon pudding out of oven 5 minutes before done to add syrup.

Syrup-

First, place pan on stove add 1 cup water, until it is very hot. Add 1 cup brown sugar, and stir, then turn heat down some.

In a small bowl, add a little of the syrup to 1 tbs of flour. Mix well, and add back to hot syrup. Mix, and then add 1 tbs of butter. After, mix well.

Take pudding out 5 minutes before done, and pour syrup on top. Place back in oven for 5 minutes. Let cool completely before serving. 

And then, you're done!

( This pudding is on the firm side, but I like a softer, more mushy texture. So next time I make it I will be trying to make it more to my liking.)

The syrup is delicious and don't forget the cool whip!

Pause your game Walker

 Hello, Today my grandson turns 14. Hard to believe it. He is growing up so fast. 

I think teenage boys are the hardest to make cards for. So I had to think for awhile what kind of card would he really enjoy.

 While I was on Design Space I came across a free image that I thought would be perfect but needed to change the words. So changed the words and colors.

Didn't want to cut all of those pieces so I decided to flatten it and do the print then cut. What a great feature that is.

 I added a hexagon shape for the card. So after I ran it through the printer, the cricut cut it out. 

This was fun to make and so much easier than I thought it would be. If you haven't tried the print then cut you should. I watched a few youtube video's first and then tried it. So easy!

Just got home from celebrating his birthday. He loved the card. 

Also It's persimmon harvest time. Our trees are full this year. 

We have been busy harvesting the persimmons. 

Wanted to let you know that I will be sharing a Persimmon Pudding recipe soon. So keep a look out for that.
